Lipstick can transform your makeup (and make it look terrible, but that’s another topic). No matter if you have a favourite lipstick colour or prefer to avoid it, expectations about lipstick are the same.
If you try something new and change up your application methods, lipstick can become the look. It doesn’t have to be a cohesive piece of makeup.
There are many ways to experiment with metallic lips and ombre lip. But, our favorite at the moment is diffused lipstick. Also known as stained lips.
The hazy look is what makes us fall for it. We asked Jess, one of our makeup artists to give us a step-by-step tutorial if you are interested in trying it yourself. You can also hire one of our professionals to do it for you.
One
Apply a lipstick (in the colour of your choice) to your lower lips using your index finger. It’s important to use a dabbing motion to ensure you don’t apply too much lipstick at one time.
Two
Once you have enough color, apply the same technique to your top lip.
Three
Use your finger to blend the color out slightly. You can add more color to the outer edges of your lips, but don’t be too precise. This look is all about blurred and hazy.
